The Way to Probota

The Monastery of Probota is located in the Suceava prefecture of Moldavia in northeastern Romania. The village of Probota, a community of 2,000, surrounds the monastery and the Church of St. Nicholas. The largest nearby city, Suceava, lays fifty kilometres away. The historic Moldavian capital of Iasi is ninety kilometres away. The Probota Monastery is best reached by car, taking the route Suceava – Falticeni – Dolhasca, or the route Iasi – Pascani – Dolhasca. From Dolhasca, a local country road leads to Probota.
